M.A. in Visual Effects and Animation - 4 Semesters (Spread over two years)

The Animation course was started as a Postgraduate Diploma in 2007 which has been converted into Master’s Degree Course from 2013 onwards.

This is a specialized course that will allow the student to develop the personal traits and skills to explore career paths in Visual Effects and Animation. This course provides learning opportunities for students to imagine, visualize, and tell a story. Students will be trained to use Industry standard software packages like Maya, After Effects and Flash.

This course endeavors to create professional communicators who can make effective and strategic interventions in various processes related to the animation and visual effects industry. Industry standards in software and production are established and expected, while students direct their own learning experience during projects derived from their own creativity and personal interest.

Students are taught the practice of Animation and Visual Effects through a series of assignments and projects where they are mentored by faculty and working professionals. This course insists on individual assignments from students that evolve into their unique and personal portfolios. Number of Seats: 20

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) with not less than 50 % marks in aggregate.

Applicants must be proficient in Windows and it is desirable to have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. The students are not required to submit their portfolio & Statement of Purpose encapsulating all their extracurricular activities at the time of submission of application form, but are expected to bring it in case of selection to the interview stage. The examination will comprise of a written test and an Interview. Students selected in the written test will be called for the interview.

Written Exam: 200 marks
Interview: 45 marks
Portfolio: 55 marks
