This course aims to introduce the students to the fundamentals of acting and making them more informed observers of the acting experience. Through various improvisations and exercises acting skills will be nurtured. This course gives an opportunity to enable the student to take up jobs in theatre productions. As the basic element of acting is common for many formats students may also take up opportunities with television and film entertainment media. They can become teachers, professional actors and artistes.
This course will be professional in nature. Balance will be maintained between theory and practice for a better creative engagement for the course. Professional inputs like acting, voice, script writing will help students understand various elements of acting and theatre.
Course Inputs:
The input includes class-room theoretical sessions and hands-on/ practical training including scene work along-with a full length play production
Basics of Acting
Introduction to script writing
Traditional and folk theatre
Theatre production
Note: Evaluation, award of Grades, Cumulative Grade Point Average etc, will be as per The Ordinance 15 -A (XV-A) of Jamia Millia Islamia University. However, attendance rules will be as per the decision of Board Of studies of AJK MCRC which has stipulated that 75% attendance will be mandatory for all students.
To be eligible to appear in the final exams students will be required to attend a minimum of 75% of all the classes and practical. Any student not fulfilling this condition will not be allowed to appear in the final examination and will be subject to the existing rules and regulations of AJK MCRC.

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) with not less than 50% marks in Aggregate.
Written Exam: 200 Marks Interview: 45 marks Portfolio: 55 marks
